His dam was one of our personal favorite broodmares; his sire was another personal favorite, since he was sweet, gentle, and would give us kisses if you let him. He also made me laugh when he would pack hay up in his cheeks like a little chipmunk. So before Robby was even born, I liked him already. And like his half sister, Dixie, something in my gut told me that there would be potential in this foal. I never got to see photos of him right away, but as the weeks went by, I kept obsessing about him; I wanted this colt badly. So when I saw his first photo at three months old, my heart stopped. He was exactly what I thought he would be and I just had to have him as my herd sire! I got the ability to purchase him right after his first brithday in late August and he was home with us on the 27th.
Robby is quite observant, good natured, and is super friendly with lots of personality. He's always curious to see new people and even more so with new horses. He has great a conformation and a kind eye that just charms anyone he sees.
Sadly, we had to geld Robby due to a condition he had from birth. While he is doing well and overall healthy otherwise, we couldn't in good conscience breed a stallion with a genetic defect. As saddening as it was to have done, he seemed to be happier as a gelding.
